Hello,

I’m Craig. My cultural interests are varied and growing. As C M Taylor I’m an author of five published novels, a filmed and commissioned screenwriter, a professional editor of fiction and non-fiction, a novice short film director, and an art history obsessive. I am a Senior Lecturer at the Oxford International Centre for Publishing where I teach media, journalism and publishing, with specialisms in Editorial, Trade Publishing, Adaptation, Story Structure, Streaming and Documentary. I retain a keen interest in biological and social anthropology, and in archaeology.

I write a substack which seeks to unify my various interests into common purpose. It’s called, As Best I Can, named after the motto of 15th century Flemish artist Jan Van Eyck. Find out why the hell I’d call it that here:
